Energy Levels

Blood glucose balance impacts our energy levels.  Glucose spikes and troughs throughout the day can make us feel like we are riding a roller-coaster and may lead to that afternoon slump or make us feel hangry. Long-term, elevated glucose levels can lead to cellular damage and premature aging. 

Cardiovascular Health

Certain foods and lifestyle factors may have a negative impact on our arteries and heart function.  We need to love our heart and take care of it throughout our life time to ensure that vital nutrients and oxygen nourish every part of our body via healthy arteries.

Cognitive Performance

Taking care of our brain and nervous system is important for our performance in the work place and life in general.  We want to be sharp, deliver that knock-out presentation, train & motivate others, be great at mental arithmetic, remember appointments, important dates and birthdays.  We want to maintain our independence and grow old gracefully.

My Approach

I am passionate about metabolic health and I want to empower my clients to achieve their health goals, whether that is improvement in energy levels, promoting cardiovascular health or cognitive function.  It all comes under the umbrella of metabolic health.  I have had a career in science, working in the pharmaceutical industry and food safety, and I love to utilise functional testing and state-of-the-art technology to visualise what is going on in the body.  Testing and tracking progress is motivational for numbers-orientated clients who want an appreciation of their physiology and a deep insight into health optimisation.  I became interested in nutrition through my own experience of gestational diabetes, a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes (which is now in drug-free remission) and recovery from a heart attack.  That is why I chose to study Nutritional Therapy with the College of Naturopathic Medicine.  I've learnt that the body has an amazing capacity for recovery if we nourish it and take care of it.  Now I want to empower my clients to optimise their health through great nutrition and lifestyle choices.
